Privacy policy

Effective 28 September 2026.

This policy explains what information CoinRate ("we") collects when you use this website and how it is used. Contact: our contact form.

Information we collect

  • Amounts you type into the converter stay in your browser. They are not sent to us.
  • Contact form: if you send a message, we receive your name, email address and message. We use them only to reply. Form submissions are processed by our hosting provider, Netlify.
  • Server logs: our hosting provider records standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and to run the service.

Price data requests

To show live prices, your browser requests data directly from CoinGecko's API. CoinGecko receives your IP address and browser information as part of that request. See CoinGecko's privacy policy.

Analytics

We may use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are popular. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects data such as approximate location, device and pages viewed. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Advertising and cookies

We may show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info. Visitors in regions that require consent will be asked before non-essential cookies are used.

How long we keep data

Contact messages are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted, unless needed for an ongoing conversation. Analytics data is kept according to the retention setting in Google Analytics.

Your choices and rights

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. To ask us to access or delete any personal information you sent us, send a message through our contact form. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
